Artificial Muscle Trainer, NV4515 is designed to provide exposure of working with IPMC artificial muscles. IPMC is abbreviation of Ionic Polymer Metal Composite or Compound. It is a synthetic replacement for damaged human muscle tissue, or a powerful alternative for hydraulic machinery that runs on electricity.

Developed for use as artificial muscles, IPMC can result in a large shape deformation by applying a low voltage. Applying a mechanical force to the substance will result in a proportional voltage being applied onto the surface. Because of this it can be used as a Sensor and an Actuator. IPMC is a type of electro active polymer.

It can be manufactured and cut in any size and shape or in particular in the form of micro Sensors and micro Actuators for MEMS applications. It consists of Nano sized metal particles, and a very flexible polymer that never wears out (or at least takes a long time).
