MCB and HRC Fuse Testing System

    Nvis 7090

    Product Description

The Nvis 7090 MCB and HRC Fuse Testing System is designed to demonstrate the operating behavior and characteristics of Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCBs) and High Rupturing Capacity (HRC) fuses. This advanced system includes B-type and C-type MCBs along with an HRC fuse, making it ideal for practical learning and testing applications.

These protective devices are capable of carrying current under normal operating conditions and automatically interrupt the circuit during overload or short-circuit conditions. The system provides comprehensive learning content to help users understand the internal working and performance of MCBs and HRC fuses.

The MCBs are housed in transparent enclosures, allowing visualization of internal components during testing. Two precise IC-based thermometers are mounted on the bimetal contacts to analyze temperature rise and fall. A digital timer with start and stop functionality enables the study of current versus tripping time characteristics.

An inbuilt isolated variable AC power supply ensures safe operation. This system allows users to understand the differences between various classes of MCBs through practical experimentation.

The Nvis 7090 serves as an ideal platform for enhancing education, training, and skill development in electrical protection systems.

    FAQS

What is an MCB testing machine and how does it work?

An MCB testing machine is a system used to analyze the performance and tripping characteristics of miniature circuit breakers. It works by injecting controlled current and measuring parameters like tripping time, temperature, and current behavior during an MCB test.

How is an MCB tester used for practical MCB testing?

An MCB tester is used to perform MCB testing by applying overload or fault current conditions. It helps students and professionals observe how MCBs respond, trip, and protect electrical circuits under different conditions.

What is the purpose of conducting an MCB test?

The purpose of an MCB test is to evaluate the operating characteristics of circuit breakers, including tripping time, temperature rise, and current handling capacity. This ensures proper protection against overloads and short circuits.

What can students learn from an MCB testing machine?

Using an MCB testing machine, students can learn about different types of MCBs, their internal structure, tripping mechanisms, and how current and temperature affect performance during MCB testing.

Why is MCB testing important in electrical engineering?

MCB testing ensures that circuit breakers function correctly under fault conditions, improving safety and reliability in electrical systems.
